In this project we primarily focused on the idea of multiple people using the room simultaneously, and secondly, plenty of storage for art supplies, books and office stationery was an important need.
We made the most of the space by introducing a continuous corner turn for work space rather than installing multiple individual desks.
Movable under counter units on wheels ensure that the drawer units can be moved out of the immediate area- or even the room - should a user require a wider desk space. The wall hung units give ample storage and have been cleverly framed with a soft, natural oak for a more harmonious finish.
Shallow open-shelving beneath the wall units allows for subtle splashes of personality to be introduced into the room. The decorative accessories on the shelving soften the area and steer the workspace away from the usual dull, uniform look which seems to be accepted as the workplace norm.
Natural light floods this room from the double doors and wide window, so the reflection of light on computer screens was a consideration. We designed the space with the clients working hours in mind, so we didn’t have to compromise any of the natural light sources.
